DIY Firefly In A Jar

written by: Brittney LeighAnn Dowell

Summer is officially here, and one of the most nostalgic me memories some of have are those late night catching fireflies! Fun, right!?

Bring that familiar magical glow indoors with this simple DIY using our bright-as-sunshine Glo Pal, Alex.

Supplies:

  • Alex Light-Up Cubes
  • Clean empty jars with lids (we recycled baby food jars)
  • Glitter/Sequins
  • Water

Directions

Start with a clean, empty jar. We thought these baby food jars were the perfect size for little hands! We spraypainted the lids to add an extra touch of colorful fun.

Let your child add glitter and water, then simply plop in your Alex Glo Cube “firefly”, twist the lid on tight (add a touch of hot glue for an extra tight seal) ,and enjoy the shimmering glow of your little firefly lantern!
