Take Sensory Play Outside
written by: audrey chaney

Summer is upon us, so we're spending a lot of time outside. Naturally, we're also looking for ways to beat the heat! Today I’m going to show you how to set up a nice, shady area perfect for kids to play and explore their senses outside using our Limited Edition Insect Cubes!
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Makeshift tent setup
Quilt for the ground
2 Sensory bins
Colored rice
Water
Fake bugs
Limited Edition Insect Cubes
Glo Pals Pick Up Pals

Colored Rice Instructions:
Gallon size ziploc bag
6 cups of rice
Lime green acrylic paint
Parchment paper
Dump rice into ziploc bag
Squirt in paint
Zip bag up and shake til rice is fully coated
Dump rice onto parchment paper and let dry

Here's how to set up the activity: First, make the colored rice using the recipe. Next, grab two sensory bins. Fill one bin with the colored rice and the other with water. Then, toss the toy bugs and insect cubes into the rice bin. Finally, use the Pick Up Pals to move the bugs and cubes from the rice to the water. Watch the insect cubes light up when they hit the water.

This activity is fantastic for all kids and super adaptable! You can make it extra whimsical by using pink or purple rice instead of green, and swapping out the insect cubes for our Limited Edition Fairy Cubes. We can't wait to see what creative twists you come up with using your favorite Glo Pals products. As always, share your summer adventures with us by tagging @glopals on social media and using #glopals! ⛺️☀️💦
